What are NIS daemons?

NIS services are provided by five daemons and managed by service management facility (SMF).

- Ypserv – Server Process

- Ypbind – Bind Process

- Ypxfrd – High speed map transferring

- Rpc.yppasswdd – NIS password update

- Rpc.ypupdated – Modifies mappings
